もう一度言いたい—それはぼくの意見ではありません！生徒さんがぼくに聞いています。だから今答えます。今日のブログ（PART 1）のトピックは“恥ずかしい”です。
ほっとんどの日本人の生徒は“恥ずかしい”が一つの理由を言っています。ぼくもそれが本当だと思います。話さないと英語の話すスキルを上達出来るのは有り得ません。もしゴルフを上達したいんだったら打ち放し行かないと上達出来ないわけです。
なぜ日本人はこの“恥ずかしい”フィーリングを持っていますか？日本の社会か毎日の生活から自然的に習っているかもしれません。それとも、文法を間違えるのは怖いかもしれません。何の理由があっても誰でもこの“恥ずかしい”フィーリングを捨てて成功出来ますよ。正しいマインドセットが必要です。

練習が一番大事です！
一人でもグループでも英語をスムーズに話せるために絶対に目じゃなくて口で話してください。何回も練習してください。リピートすると自信をどんどん持ちます。

This is the first part of a 5-part series to attempt to answer the question that so many students ask me: Why aren’t Japanese people good at English?
Now let me say that again—this is NOT my opinion or judgment. This is a question that my students continually ask ME. Well, it’s time that I answer this question once and for all. I have divided this into 5 main reasons and we’ll start today with—“shy” personality.
Most students tend to name “shyness” as one of the main reasons why Japanese are not good at English or are afraid to speak out. I would have to agree. It is IMPOSSIBLE to improve your English Speaking skills without speaking. It is also impossible for me to improve my golf skills without swinging a club and hitting balls.
Where does this “shyness” come from? Perhaps it is just a “natural” characteristic as a result of growing up in Japanese society. Or, maybe it’s the fear of making grammatical mistakes. Whatever the reason is, ANYONE can overcome this “shyness” with the proper mindset and surroundings.
Action Step:
PRACTICE is the key! Whether you are in a group or by yourself, practice speaking out loud so that you become comfortable speaking out! Repeat tasks to build CONFIDENCE. Always believe that there is NO PERFECTION, there is only PROGRESS toward your goal. Finally, be around people who support you!

日本人はなぜ英語で話すのを恥ずかしがるか？
大きな要因として、日本人にとって英語の話し方、発音は美しくないからです。
このことはめったに指摘されません。なぜなら英語話者に失礼だし、日本では英語（そして欧米のものはすべて）「クール」ということになっているからです。
ではなぜ美しくないと思うのか？英語で話すときは、日本語よりも口を大きくゆがめて話すからです。
これが日本人にとっては下品で、まねしたくないのです。
音もそうです。特にcatのaやtreeのtrの音はをまねするのは恥ずかしいです（他の多くの音、日本語と共通点がある音は大丈夫です）。
