On the 13th episode of Speaking Skills, we learn how to master this skill:

Describing Past Events

Has any of your English-speaking friends asked you, “How was your vacation?” or “What happened in the meeting this morning?” In this episode, we learn how to describe past events in a very logical way that’s easy for the listener to understand.

Set the Stage:
Use one or two sentences to give the overall idea of the event. Be sure to include the time and place (WHEN and WHERE).

Sequence:
Describe events in chronological order (as they happened naturally in time). Use sequencing words and phrases like “first”, “next”, and “finally”.

Comment:
Add one more sentence with your personal comment.
