After hearing lots about “Shutter Island” I decided to rent it on DVD. It is a mystery/suspense movie from earlier this year.
Shutter Island is an island that has a mental hospital and not much else except rugged cliffs and trees. DiCaprio is a police detective and is sent there with his partner to investigate the disappearance of one of the inmates.
This movie has lots of twists and turns and is probably better if you know less about it before watching. The story is brilliantly told by Scorsese and DiCaprio puts on a good performance as usual.
It is a very good movie in the mystery/suspense genre but there are a few disturbing scenes for the casual viewer. Overall, a very solid movie, but not excellent.
